TwitchPlaysMicroscopy operates the private Twitch Extension and Microscope.TV. This page explains the limited information used to provide the interactive experience.

Public catalog

Microscope.TV is a static, browse-only catalog. It does not provide user accounts, comments, purchases, or a direct connection to lab hardware. The site publishes accepted microscopy media and catalog information only.

Twitch identity and interactions

When you choose Twitch’s Share Identity action, Twitch provides the identity needed to prevent duplicate votes and operate the free queue and short control leases. We use that identity only for the requested interaction, safety checks, recovery of an interrupted queue or lease, and service audit records. We do not sell identity information or use it for advertising.

Unlinked viewers can browse the catalog. You can choose not to share identity; voting, queueing, and control will then remain unavailable.

Retention and requests

Interaction records retain only the minimum protected identity needed for the queue, recovery, and safety audit process. We delete or expire that information when it is no longer needed for those purposes. To ask about access or deletion, contact support@microscope.tv.

Third parties and changes

Twitch provides the Extension platform and its own privacy practices apply to your Twitch account. This service may link to Twitch and accepted media sources, which have their own policies. We may update this page as the product changes; the current version is published here.
